Occurring nearly simultaneously with the famous Roswell crash in the United States, a topographer in rural Brazil reported hearing an extremely sharp sound before witnessing a lens-shaped object land nearby. Three humanoid figures reportedly emerged from the craft and attempted to communicate in an unknown language before re-entering the vessel and departing silently. The topographer, José Higgins, recorded the encounter in detailed sketches and reported it to local authorities. The case is among the earliest South American close encounters of the third kind from the post-Roswell era and was later catalogued by Brazilian ufologist J. Escobar Faria. It remains uncorroborated by other witnesses but holds historical significance as one of the first humanoid encounter reports in Brazil.
