The Uruguayan Air Force established the Commission for the Reception and Investigation of Complaints of Unidentified Flying Objects (CRIDOVNI), one of the first permanent openly acknowledged official UAP investigation bodies in the world. Unlike covert programs in larger nations, CRIDOVNI operates transparently, publishing periodic reports that openly acknowledge cases that defy conventional aerodynamic explanation. It predates the U.S. AARO by over four decades.
