Forestry worker Robert Taylor encountered a large spherical metallic object hovering in a forest clearing near Dechmont Law. Small spiked spheres dropped from it and dragged him by his trouser legs toward the craft, causing loss of consciousness. Lothian and Borders Police opened a formal criminal investigation - the only UAP case in history to generate an official police criminal inquiry file. Investigators confirmed physical impressions in the ground and tears in Taylor's clothing entirely consistent with his account. No explanation was ever recorded.
