Two Finnish Air Force pilots witnessed a tight formation of seven plate-shaped objects hovering and executing high-velocity maneuvers over western Finland. Military radar operators at Vaasa, nearly 200 kilometres away, simultaneously confirmed the targets. The Finnish Defence Forces officially acknowledged the incident in their magazine Ruotuväki in 2012 - an unusual degree of Cold War European military transparency.
