Irish RAF Spitfire and Hurricane pilot, writer, filmmaker, and musician who co-authored Flying Saucers Have Landed (1953) with George Adamski. Leslie contributed the opening historical survey of UFO sightings from medieval times to the present. He was also a pioneering electronic music composer credited with designing the world's first practical multi-track recording mixer.

Background

Desmond Arthur Peter Leslie was born on June 29, 1921, in London, and raised at Castle Leslie, County Monaghan, Ireland. During World War II he flew Spitfires and Hurricanes for the RAF. In the early 1950s he designed what is considered the world's first practical multi-track recording mixer, built by Rupert Neve. His collaboration with George Adamski produced Flying Saucers Have Landed (1953). He died of emphysema in Antibes, France, on February 21, 2001.
