Retired French aeronautics technician (32 years at SNECMA and Dassault Aviation) who became one of the most prolific French UFO field investigators. Long-time collaborator of the journal Lumières Dans La Nuit (LDLN). Author of 'OVNIS en France', documenting decades of first-hand case investigations across the Val d'Oise and southern France, including the extended Robert L. contact case in Aveyron.

Background

Georges Metz spent his professional career in the French aerospace industry, working on military and civil aircraft at SNECMA (engine prototypes) and Dassault Aviation (airframe fabrication). A self-described autodidact, he began following UFO reports at age 15 in 1947 and became an active field investigator after retirement, contributing to LDLN under Joël Mesnard. His investigations span cases in the Val d'Oise, Seine-et-Marne, Aveyron, and Brittany.
