New Jersey contactee who claimed encounters with Nordic-type beings from 1932 through the 1950s. His 1959 book From Outer Space to You described meetings with tall, blond beings on farms in New Jersey and later in High Bridge. He briefly retracted his claims in 1967 before reasserting them.
Howard Menger was a sign painter and later electronics technician from New Jersey who became a prominent figure in the 1950s contactee movement. He described his first encounter with a beautiful blond woman sitting on a rock as occurring when he was ten years old. Throughout the 1950s he claimed regular meetings with Nordic beings who shared philosophical and spiritual teachings. He organised gatherings at his New Jersey farm where he presented photographs and recordings he attributed to his contacts. After a period of recanting around 1967, Menger returned to affirming his experiences and continued speaking publicly about them until late in his life.
