Fort Worth, Texas investigative journalist and New York Times bestselling author who wrote extensively on government cover-ups, the JFK assassination, and UFOs. His 1989 book Crossfire: The Plot That Killed Kennedy was a primary source for Oliver Stone's film JFK. Among his UFO works, Alien Agenda (1997) argued for an extraterrestrial presence managed by secret human institutions. He died on August 2, 2017.

Background

James Farrell Marrs Jr. was born on December 5, 1943, in Fort Worth, Texas, earned a BA in journalism from the University of North Texas in 1966, and joined the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. His book Crossfire (1989) reached the New York Times bestseller list and informed Oliver Stone's 1991 film JFK. Marrs subsequently extended his investigative approach to UFOs, secret societies, and consciousness before his death at age 73.
