New Mexico State Police officer. The sole on-scene witness in the April 1964 Socorro incident, one of the most documented and least-explained close-encounter cases in Project Blue Book's record. Found landing impressions and scorched vegetation.

Background

Lonnie Zamora was a police officer in Socorro, New Mexico, who experienced one of the most credible and heavily investigated UAP close encounters in history. In 1964, he observed a flame-propelled, egg-shaped craft land in the desert and witnessed two small humanoid figures in white coveralls near the vehicle. Zamora's key contribution is his impeccable character and the physical evidence left at the site, including fused sand and landing gear indentations, which baffled investigators. His encounter remains a definitive case that the United States military could not debunk. The event significantly legitimized the study of physical trace cases in early ufology.
