American author, illustrator, and podcaster who spent over two decades in wilderness and outdoor education before turning to UFO research. Background

Mike Clelland spent more than two decades in outdoor education in the Rocky Mountains, authoring and illustrating instructional guides on backcountry skiing, climbing, and ultralight backpacking before shifting his focus to UFO research. Drawing on his own reported experiences and firsthand accounts collected from others, his 2015 book 'The Messengers: Owls, Synchronicity and the UFO Abductee,' with a foreword by Richard Dolan, documents a recurring pattern in which owl sightings accompany UFO encounters and abduction-related memories. Clelland coined the term 'maybe people' for those who report the owl synchronicity without conscious memory of alien contact. He now lives in the Adirondacks and hosts the monthly podcast 'The Unseen with Mike Clelland' on Whitley Strieber's Unknown Country platform.
