She went on to conduct her own research alongside him, traveling to interview witnesses and pursuing material held in university and U.S. Air Force archives. With Scott Ramsey and Frank Thayer, she co-authored 'The Aztec UFO Incident' (2011), which combines local history, witness testimony, and declassified documents in support of the claim that the U.S. military recovered a crashed craft near Aztec in 1948, a claim that remains disputed within ufology.
