Comedian Jackie Gleason's second wife, Beverly McKittrick, stated after their 1975 divorce that Richard Nixon took Gleason to Homestead AFB in the early hours of February 19, 1973, and showed him what Gleason believed were alien bodies in a secure building, without Nixon himself entering. Gleason reportedly recounted the story to friends but never confirmed it publicly himself before his 1987 death. Researcher Larry Bryant later sought unsuccessfully to compel testimony on the claim. Nixon's official schedule for that date, as recorded in Nixon Library daily diary logs, places him in Key Biscayne without an unaccounted-for gap of the length the story requires, a discrepancy skeptics cite against the account.
