Richard Nixon

37th U.S. President; central figure in a disputed Jackie Gleason alien-bodies account · US · b. 1913–1994
Sourcing status: Disputed — this is a contested claim, not independently verified. Presented as a documented claim, not established fact.

37th President of the United States, serving 1969 to 1974, and a longtime personal friend of entertainer Jackie Gleason. Gleason's second wife, Beverly McKittrick, stated after their 1975 divorce that Nixon drove Gleason to Homestead Air Force Base on the night of February 19, 1973, and had him shown what Gleason believed were alien bodies inside a secure building, though accounts differ on whether Nixon entered himself. Nixon never addressed the claim publicly, and Nixon Presidential Library daily-diary records for that date show him in Key Biscayne without a documented gap of the length the story would require, a point skeptics raise against the account. This entry addresses only that disputed claim and is not a general biographical record of his presidency.
